How to Survive the Tube Strike

UHOH AGAIN LONDON

No Tube services night of Wed July 8th and throughout Thu July 9th.

It affects the entire Tube. Yes all the lines. But not the Overground or DLR since they do their own thing.

DON'T PANIC

Citymapper's 'Get Me Somewhere' and our 'Routing Around Strikes Technology' will figure out how to get you around using everything BUT the Tube. Yes, there are many many ways to get around this city.

1) A STRIKE SAFE SECTION

Plan ahead or during the strike period and see a new 'Strike Safe' section in your results.

It takes into account all disrupted lines (ie all of them but we'll edit based on reality) and offers all the alternatives you can use.

Buses, Overground, DLR, TfL Rail, National Rail, Trams and River Buses should run as normal. You can get anywhere by combining these modes and our multimodal routing. But expect busy roads and journeys.

We also have our Bus Only section which should be particularly useful during this period.

2) CYCLE HIRE + TRAIN

Although the Tube is down, National Rail will still be running (and it accepts Oyster & Contactless within the Oyster fare zones), and thanks to our Fancy Multimodal Cycle + Train Routing, we will offer you suggestions where you can combine the modes to survive in town and get some fresh air while you're at it.

3) LINE STATUS

The City page will be updated as the strike unfolds to help you get a view on things. We'll also update information as we learn from users.

Best of luck with your #strikejourney.
