Welcome to Citymapper Tokyo!
Greetings, citizens of Tokyo!
We are Citymapper, a transit app from London.
Citymapper’s mission is to use open data and smartphones to make complicated cities easier to live in. We are currently live in several cities in Europe and the Americas including London, Paris, and New York.
Tokyo is our first city in Asia. Tokyo Metro is the only transit agency that has made their data open to the public, so we are only showing Tokyo metro routes in the app right now. We are aware that without information from the other agencies, the app's search results may not return the best route. We're very sorry for the inconvenience that this causes.
As a result Tokyo is currently a "baby city". In order to grow into an adult, the baby needs more open data, so we hope that it becomes available to us in the future.
The app has several useful features:
- Get Me Somewhere: planning a journey from A to B
- Real-time line status and Twitter updates
In the image below, the Chiyoda and Hanzomon Lines have disruption information that can be selected for more details.
The most recent tweets from each line’s Twitter account are also displayed.
- Real-time departure information from each station
The line, departure time, travel direction, terminal station, and train type (e.g. normal, limited express) are all shown.
There are other features as well so we hope you can explore the app.
Please do share any issues or feedback that you may have with us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
