Ding Ding live on Citymapper
Ding Ding 叮叮 might be the longest serving mode of public transport in Hong Kong, but it's very much in the 21st century.
You can now see their live arrival times in Citymapper:
We have also added a new section in the Journey Results - "With Tram" to complement existing categories like "Bus Only", "MTR Only" so that you can enjoy Hong Kong island like it's 1904 all over again.
These double deckers trams have served the city for over a century and are rare.
There are only three double decker trams system still in use worldwide, ignoring those in museums:
- Hong Kong
- Alexandria, Egypt
- Blackpool, UK
There is some debate in the city as to whether to remove these historic trams between Jubilee St (Central) and Arsenal St (Admiralty).
Tram opponents argue that they may increase congestion. Proponents argue that trams are a good balance to the fast pace city and allow us to take a breather in it. Take one and see for yourself.
